Grilled Cranberry Pear Crumble

These Grilled Cranberry Pear Crumble are a fun and different take on a classic dessert. They combine the smoky flavors of the grill with the sweet and sour flavors of seasonal fruits. Great for a summer barbecue or any other outdoor event.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Vanilla ice cream optional, for serving

Instructions:

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat

In a large bowl, combine sliced pears, fresh cranberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg

Toss until well coated

In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly

Divide the pear and cranberry mixture into individual foil packets or a cast-iron skillet

Sprinkle the oat crumble mixture evenly over the fruit

Place the foil packets or skillet on the preheated grill and close the lid

Grill for 15-20 minutes or until the fruit is tender and the crumble topping is golden brown

Carefully remove from the grill using oven mitts

Serve the grilled cranberry pear crumble warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream
